Poor delivery service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased an above ground pool through Recreational Warehouse. When it was delivered the company that delivered it didn't let us know they were there and just dropped it off in the middle of the front yard where anybody could have stolen all or part of it. We had plenty of room for them to drive into our backyard with their forklift. We called the Recreational Warehouse about it, and they told us that it was the way it was done, and they had no control over it. They were very curt about it. My wife who is 72 and myself 69 had to unload it and move it to somewhere safe and dry. I think that if they employ the delivery company they and we're the customers we should have things done to our satisfaction.

DISHONEST INSTALLERS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased Pool table in 2000. Paid $1,500. Installers cracked the slate by drilling an extra hole. We had to have the table disassembled for new flooring being laid. We hire a company to remove with the intent of re-felting. They discover the crack which the installers never, never mentioned. Their is proof of what they did by the extra hole drilled to hold the crack. DID NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AS THEY USE DISHONEST INSTALLERS!!!! No one said a word, just left it the way it was and 25 years later when we contracted to have the table disassembled and re-felted, it was discovered

Permitting issues.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased a pool from RW. RW uses Admiral pools to do the installs. They say there is no affiliation between the 2 but Admiral pools is the only above ground pool installer there is. So they are affiliated. Jeff with Admiral Pools told me he is not liscensed in my area so I would have to pull a permit as an owner builder but there will be not issues with that. Eight months later I cannot sell my home because the permit was never closed due to lack of final inspection. This was never disclosed to me by Admiral pools, the city, or Recreational warehouse. When I had to hire a liscensed contractor to fix the permitting, it failed inspection due to the pool pump not being hard wired. When I called Jeff he says that he does not do that he knows an electrician I can hire to do that. IF YOU CANNOT FINISH THE JOB, DONT START IT!! I have now spent an excess of $1000 fixing this not to mention the headaches. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH RECREATIONAL WAREHOUSE!! When I called them and told them the situation, they were ready with countless arguments like they do this all the time. They got their money so they are unwilling to help. I never complain about anything but please don't do business with them.

CHECK PRICES. Recreational WAY OVER CHARGES

If you are looking for a pool heater, make sure you check around. They outsource the install and charge a large mark up on their units. They will tell you that Leisure Temp is better then Tropical, both are made from Aquacal. If you call the manufacture Aquacal, they will tell you they are the same exact unit. I paid for an 84K BTU unit the price I could have with another installer/company got a 112K BTU. CHECK AROUND!! This is not a company I would suggest. There is no reason for price inflation like this.

Recreational Factory Warehouse - Pool Warranty Review from Chesapeake, Virginia

The 25 year warranty on my pool which I purchased in 4/2011 has began to rust and exploded yesterday. To my surprise they have filed bankrupt and we're a franchise owned company. Now there is no way to have them cover my warranty. Not only did the pool explode it flooded the 12,000 gallons of water into my sunroom, my laundry room, and a downstairs bedroom. I'm lost for words that this company feels they have no responsibility to hold up to their warranty!

Failure to honor warranty

Recreational Factory Warehouse - Failure to honor warranty

Purchased a Leisure Bay Spa from Rec Warehouse in 2010 and have been happy. I realize they closed their local locations but was assured service would not be an issue if needed.

I have the 10 year "Millennium Series Warranty" which covers equipment, cabinet etc in one form or another for 10 years. Recently, a main pump was leaking and I called their main number to schedule service. I was told that 1) Leisure Bay is out of business therefore they could not honor the warranty AND 2) Rec Warehouse is no longer incorporated it's an LLC (or something to that effect). A guy named Andy explained it like this, "if Best Buy sells you a Sony TV and Sony goes out of business, Best Buy would not be able to help you with Sony's warranty".

That's fine EXCEPT, the paper specifically says "Rec Warehouse Spa Service Policy", not Leisure Bay's policy. I could call back and argue that point, but it's obvious they are not going to do anything about it.

Now I have to find a replacement pump and pay an installer to put it in. 100% out of pocket.

Pumps are at least $500 from what I can tell. It's not the Spa I'm unhappy with, in fact, I've loved it. But the company is a stellar example of ***-poor customer service.

They have no idea what I may or may not have purchased from them in the future. I assure you it's nothing now.

Will not honor written policy

We purchased our Spa on July 17, 2010 and it was delivered July 29, 2010. We bought the Mellennium Series Warranty with Peace of Mind Extended Service Plan for $599. It was supposed to cover among other things “Lifetime Dura-Life Cabinet Warranty, 10 Spa Labor Warranty, 100% Mechanical Coverage, 100% electric Coverage, No plan Cap, and no travel charge” (I have the paper work). Now that we have the cabinet warping, 3 speakers out, and an intake valve that broke off they are saying they are not going to cover ANY of the parts or labor of the repairs. I called and spoke to the manager and they said that the warranty was backed by Leisure Bay who is now out of business so they do not have to honor the warranty even through Rec Warehouse is the name on the warranty paper work. The manager did not even care that this $12000 spa that we purchased from them is having all these problems. We also come to find out that most of that warranty was only covered by Leisure bay and the $600 was only to cover 50% of the cost of parts that are covered under the extended warranty plan. That does not include speakers, parts that can break off, or the cabinet as the paper work advertises. So after spending $599 + tax 2.5 years ago we are left with a very messed up piece of junk and they are not going to stand by what they gave us in writing.

Company skipped out completely

They replaced a pool that only had partial warranty which, was okay. That pool started pitting and got holes in the wall in less than a year. Went to ask about it and they cleared out! Overnight from what the building owner said. Pure disgust! They left no forwarding address. They actually don't even go by that name on the Internet anymore. Trying to get a hundred words is impossible. Short and sweet, they took off and left me with a pool that won't last another month. My name is Anne. I live in Hollywood. I own four dogs.

Rec Warehouse -Could not get product ordered knew this and did not contact me

ordered new pool pump from Rec. Warehouse lakeland fl, paid cash. Rec had sold numerous pumps and could not fill the orders. They were not calling customers to advise them. They waited for the customer to call them or come in to tell them seems to me they are holding on to money . I followed up on the order and was told the pump was in Orlando and would be there the next day..not so. By that time it was past 14 days and were told refund of many had to come from corporate...I was told 5 days..it has been 2 weeks plus no money.

You are a liar ive built those pools for years you didnt dig or level yourself if you did you wouldve built it yourself just stop with the lies yes they are a horrible company n dont honor warranties but just put the facts and stop lyiing

Guest

How is this Rec Warehouse's fault. Rec Warehouse does not employ pool installers.

You hired the pool installer. The POOL INSTALLER made you pay more. The POOL INSTALLER put your wrinkly liner in.

The POOL INSTALLER put a patch in the pool... You are going after the wrong people.

Rec Factory warehouse

n 2006 we bought a 33x18 above ground pool, thinking we would have many many years of use. WRONG just as we hit 9 years we decided to have the pool liner replaced do to wrinkles in the liner. We we bought the new liner had the install crew come out and put the liner in. Trouble started --when they cut out the old liner they found rust, bad rust. Come to find out the "J" mold was not butted tightly against each other so water got behind the liner and rusted the pool out. Pro rate of pool was 70% I pay and 30 Rec pay, so a pool I bought with a 20 year warranty is now being cut up for scrap. The new wall was going to cost me $869.,$375. shipping,$1450. installation, and tax would run me about $3100.. I use the pool for health issues because I have MS. But now I have a 18'x33' sand hole with a deck around it. Yes we were SCREWED.

Poor Customer Service from the moment you walk in!

I have been to Rec Warehouse in Ft. Myers and from the moment I walked in I got the sense of not feeling very welcome. A rep(s) will walk up to you initially but when they sense you have somewhat of a knowledge base they seem to walk away instead. Nobody asked what our needs were and few had any real hands on experience it seems with owning or using a hot tub. Most to the knowledge base the spew comes from the manufacturers information they are provided with. I have left on three occassions with not one rep asking if there was any questions they could answer for us. In fact the experience overall was rather uncomfortable. I find the reps just float around and avoid you rather than build a repoir with their potential client. The last place I bought a spa from they would greet you at the door, let you browse, then ask what you were looking for in a spa and offer the pluses and minuses of each spa. They would take it a next step further and introduce you to the other sales reps and let you know their title and that they would be available to help anytime you come in to their showroom. This is client building at its best. I honestly leave Rec Warehouse feeling like I am intruding on their space. After three awkward visits to Rec Warehouse I will be taking my search to another facility that offers high end spas where they appreciate a customer who is spending their hard earned money at their location.

No, I am not a competitor. I wrote the first comment which didn't seem to go through then rewrote it again...eventually both showed up.

I did go back to REC Warehouse and FINALLY met up with a knowledgeable rep that answered all our questions. We were waiting for lanai tile to be installed first before moving forward with the tub.

We asked if the price could be made a bit better, while we were finishing up the tile issue. No rep ever called us back to follow up on our hot tub interest.

This is the same post as the one below?!?!?

Sounds like a competitor to me!!!
